The Chamber Concert Grand 205

This outstanding grand piano was awarded as one of the three best in Paris.
In the early eighties, we redesigned the Steingraeber 205 on the basis of a design by Stein-graeber’s founding father - THE design which gave rise to the sound profile of Liszt’s Stein-graeber grand.
This model is popular for Lieder recitals, recording sessions, at conservatoires and at festivals of New Music.
What makes this instrument so special is the subtle transparency of its tone.
The 205 grand marks the realization of an unusual technical concept: Whereas the arched, well-sprung soundboard is comparatively slim, the design permits extremely long strings. To-gether, these two features make for dynamic diversity with a constant clarity of tone, whether the voicing of the hammer heads tend towards the lyrical or the brilliant.
Demanding pianists also value the professional action of this grand which has one of the hig-hest repetition speeds available.
The basic version is Model 205 N Classical with three pedals (sostenuto), three lid props and large brass castors.
There are countless variations available, ranging from the Classicist and Renaissance to the Baroque and Rococo, the rim of which has a sweeping lower edge.
